I am Legend

A kind of lethal virus which is supposed to be the cure of cancer breaks out in 2009 . This mutant virus kills 90% of humans and over 9% people survive but are infected . When a person is infected , he/she will become extremly aggressive , lose rationality , and be afraid of UV radiation ( they will painfully die if be shone by the sun ) . So these infected people - almost look like monster , have to hide in dark buildings everyday until sunset . Less than 1% of humankind is immue to the virus , but were hunted by the infected as food , thus living in great danger .

Robert Neville ( Will Smith ) is the last healthy human staying in New York . He has no idea weather there are other normal people in the world or he is the only healthy survivor . His family died in the chaotic evacuation , leaving only one dog - Sam accompanying him . Everyday , Robert goes out with Sam in daytime for food and daily necessities ; everyday , he waits for a response to his continuous recorded radio broadcasts , expecting any uninfected survivors come to meet him ; everyday , he tries to find the treatment from his his own blood ( cause Robert is immue to the virus ) ; everyday , he hides himself home at night from been found by infected guys ; everyday , he lives in solitude , torturing by loneliness , talking only with mannequins he sets up . Until one day , 2 other healthy people finally show up ...

This is really a great movies that touch me deeply in the heart in many scenes . It presents the reaction and mentality of one person who lives in solitude for more than 3 years without cantact with anyone . Robert is brave , he chooses to live even he has to be alone - maybe for whole life . When his only friend - Sam is infected and becomes aggressive , Robert has no choice but kill her personally , with deep sarrow . But Robert still has fragile side . When seeing him break down , I felt so sad , too . The extrem loneliness is frightened . I'm not sure I can handle it like Robert when facing this kind of situation . It must need great courage and mental toughness .

It's a great movie , also exciting , because you have no idea when those monster like people will jump out with terrible scream in a sudden . After watching it , I feel so lucky and grateful that I can stay here with all my friends and families , other than being alone .

UK species 'must move to survive'

Some UK wildlife species will have to find new habitats as climate change causes temperatures to rise, the Wildlife Trusts have warned.

Animals, birds and plants will have to move north and westwards to find suitable habitats, the trusts say.
Species affected will include the dormouse and some bats and butterflies.
The Wildlife Trusts says that while some species are already moving, development and loss of habitat is preventing movement for others.
The voluntary organisation is trying to link up natural areas of woodland, heathland and pasture so creatures like pipistrelle and barbastelle bats and sand lizards can extend their habitats.
Wildlife made a similar move in search of food and homes following the last Ice Age, the trusts said.
John Everitt, the organisation's head of rebuilding biodiversity said: "This time there are unexpected barriers: cities, motorways and expanses of hostile countryside.
"We need to ensure that we give our wildlife room to move or its future is threatened."

New arrivals

Some animals are already extending their territories and moving to new parts of the country previously beyond their range, Mr Everitt said.
New species are also arriving, attracted by the UK's changing climate.
The hazel dormouse is one of the threatened species. It needs reasonably-sized blocks of hazel wood to survive but such areas are increasingly threatened by fragmentation, the trusts said.
Dormice need linked woodland to allow them to move between habitats, as they refuse to cross open ground.
Upland birds and animals such as the mountain hare which could migrate uphill may become isolated at the mountain tops, the trusts said.
A lack of snow could threaten birds such as the ptarmigan which turns white in winter to hide from predators.
